    The USS Portent American Auk-class minesweeper
    off Anzio 1944

The USS Portent  was an American minesweeper of the Auk class, built by Pennsylvania Shipyards Inc. in Beaumont (Texas) during 1941, and launched during 1942.

She had a part in the Allied landing operations at Anzio, and on January 22, 1944, she collided with a floating mine and sank off the coast of Anzio.

L' USS Portent prese parte alle operazioni per lo sbarco Allato ad Anzio, e il 22 Gennaio 1944 entrò in collisione con una mina galleggiante ed affondò al largo della Costa di Anzio.
