    The Navi di Nemi  Roman ceremonial vessels 
    in the lake of Nemi I Century A.D.

The he famous Navi di Nemi were wo large ceremonial vessels: the first, 71.30m long and 20m wide, was a rostrated warship; the second was 73m long and 24m wide (left). 
They were built under Caligula empire during the first Century A.D. and rised in 1932 during the draining of the small Nemi lake near Rome.

Le famose Navi di Nemi erano due grandi navi cerimoniali: la prima, lunga 71.30m e larga 20m, era una nave da guerra dortata di rostro; la seconda era lunga 73m e larga 24m (a sinistra). 
Furono costruite durante l'impero di Caligola, nel corso del Primo Secolo D.C. e recuperate nel 1923 in occasione della bonifica del piccolo Lago di Nemi presso Roma.

A 5m long wood anchor with lead stock (right) and a 4m long iron one were recovered during the excavation work. 
The hulls have been destroyed by fire in 1944.

Tra i molti reperti, i pił spettacolari furono una grande ancora lignea con contromarra in piombo lunga 5m (a destra) e un'ancora in ferro lunga 4m.
Gi scafi sono stati distrutti dal fuoco nel 1944.
