    The UB-69 UB-III-class German submarine

The UB-69 was a German submarine of the successiful UB III class: she was built in Kiel by Krupp Germaniawerft during 1916 and launched during 1917.

The submarines of the UB III class were 55.30m long; displacement 516 tons (surfaced) 651 tons (submerged); max speed 13.6kn (surfaced) 8kn (submerged); five 533mm torpedo launchers, one 88mm gun. They were designed to dive down to -50m.

I sommergibili della Classe UB III erano lunghi 55.30m; dislocamento 516 tonnellate (in emersione) e 651 tonnellate (in immersione); velocità massima 13.9 nodi (in emersione) e 8 nodi (in immersione); erano armati con cinque tubi lanciasiluri da 533mm e di un cannone da 88mm; erano progettati per potersi immergere fino a -50m.

The UB-69 was based in Pula since the very end of 1917, and operated just one patrol: on January 9, 1918, she was attacked and depth charged off Bizerta. She was destroyed in a tremendous explosive sweep: all 31 men of the crew died.

L' UB-69 fu destinato alla base di Pola a partire dalla fine del 1917, da dove potè effettuare una sola missione: il 9 Gennaio 1918 fu attaccato con bombe di profondità al largo di Biserta.
Fu distrutto da una spaventosa esplosione: tutti i 31 uomini dell'equipaggio morirono.
