The Roman vessel of Cala Cupa (Giglio Island)
    II Century A.D.

.

.

The ancient Ship of Cala Cupa was a Roman trade vessel carrying a cargo of grain coming from Southern France in Pelichet 47 amphorae (right), sunk at Cala Cupa (Giglio Island) during the Second Century A.D.

.

The most part of the cargo was recovered from a depth comprised between -4m and -12m but the remains of the hull may be slid down the slope to a depth of about -90m.
