    The Roman vessel of the Secca delle Grottelle
    (Ventotene Isl.) I Century B.C.

The ancient Ship of the Secca delle Grottelle was a Roman vessel, sunk near the Secca delle Grottelle, off  Ventotene Island, during the I Century B.C. A great amount of luxury objects was found in the wreck: Ventotene was an important and exclusive touristic locality, and the vessel could have been something like a private yacht, a luxury liner, or an elegant entertainment ship.

L'antica Nave della Secca delle Grottelle era una nave Romana, affondata presso la Secca delle Grottelle, al largo dell'Isola di Ventotene, nel corso del I Secolo A.C. Sul relitto è stata trovata una grende quantità di oggetti di lusso: Ventotene era un'importante ed esclusiva località turistica, e la nave potrebbe essere stata qualcosa di simile a uno yacht privato, o una lussuosa nave di linea, o un'elegante nave per intrattenimento.

The pictures show some little marble heads (right) and a set of ivory stili (above) used to engrave waxed writing tablets.

Le illustrazioni mostrano alcune testine in marmo (a destra), certamente elementi di decorazione, ed un completo di stili in avorio (sopra), che servivano a scrivere su tavolette di cera.
