    The findings of Tarragona II-III Century A.D.

A Roman sarcophagus (left) has been recovered from a depth of -4m, 8km from Tarragona. It was decorated by a rich relief. 
The cover and the left side are broken, and some parts of the sculptures are damaged.

Un sarcofago Romano è stato recuperato da una profondità di -4m, a circa 8km da Tarragona. E' decorato da un ricco rilievo. Il coperchio ed il lato sinistro sono rotti, e le sculture sono danneggiate in alcune parti.

There were no traces of a wreck: possibly the sarcophagus fell in the water during loading operations, or it was thrown outboard in consequence of adverse weather conditions.

Non sono state trovate tracce di un relitto: firse il sarcofago cadde in acqua durante le operazioni di carico, o fu gettato in acqua in conseguenza di condizioni meteorologiche avverse,
