    The HMS Bedouin British Tribal-class destroyer

The HMS Bedouin was a Tribal-class British destroyer, built and launched in Dumbarton by William Denny & Brothers during 1937.

L' HMS Bedouin era un cacciatorpediniere della Classe Tribal, costruito e varato a Dumbarton nei cantieri William Denny & Brothers nel corso del 1937.

During June 1942, the HMS Bedouin escorted a convoy heading to Malta during the Operation Harpoon.

Nel Giugno del 1942, l' HMS Bedouin sortò un convoglio in rotta su Malta nel corso dell'Operazione Harpoon.

On June 15, the convoy was intercepted in the Straits of Sicily by an Italian force led by the cruisers Montecuccoli and Eugenio di Savoia. 
The British destroyers HMS Bedouin, HMS Marne, HMS Matchless, HMS Ithuriel and HMS Partridge tried to screen the convoy. 

Il 15 Giugno, il convoglio fu intercettato nello Stretto di Sicilia da una squadra navale Italiana di cui facevano parte gli incrociatori Montecuccoli and Eugenio di Savoia. 
I cacciatorpediniere Britannici HMS Bedouin, HMS Marne, HMS Matchless, HMS Ithuriel ed HMS Partridge cercarono di frapporsi tra gli Italiani ed il convoglio. 

During the fight the HMS Bedouin was seriously damaged and couldn't manoeuvre any more, and the HMS Partridge, she herself damaged by Italian gunfire, took the HMS Bedouin in tow.
But the Italian force get close again, and the HMS Partridge had to leave the tow: an Italian Siai-Marchetti SM 79 torpedo bomber hit the HMS Bedouin, that sank South of Pantelleria Island.

Nel corso della battaglia, l' HMS Bedouin fu gravemente danneggiato e non potè più manovrare, e l' HMS Partridge, anch'esso danneggiato dal fuoco d'artiglieria Italiano, prese l' HMS Bedouin a rimorchio.
Ma la squadra Italiana tornò a serrare le distanze, e l' HMS Partridge dovette abbandonare il rimorchio: un aerosilurante Italiano Siai-Marchetti SM 79 colpì l' HMS Badouin, che affondò a Sud dell'Isola di Pantelleria.
