    The HMS Talisman T-class British submarine 
    near Marettimo 1942

The HMS Talisman was a T-class British submarine, built in Birkenhead by Cammell Laird Shipyard during 1938, and launched during 1940.

We have just a few uncertain informations about the last mission of HMS Talisaman: she sailed from Gibralter on September 10, 1942, carrying a cargo of supplies and spare parts for Malta.

On September 15, she could have attacked a German submarine off Philippeville (Algeria), but there was no further confirm.

Il 15 Settembre, potrebbe aver attaccato un sommergibile Britannico al largo di Philippeville (Algeria) ma non ci furono conferme successive.

There are two hypothesis on HMS Talisman's faith: she was probably sunk on September 17 by Italian torpedo boats off Marettimo Island (Western Sicily). 
But maybe she collided with a floating mine in the Straits of Sicily, around the same date. 
Anyway, she was lost with all hands.

Ci sono due ipotesi dul destino dell' HMS Talisman: probabilmente fu affondato da torpediniere Italiane al largo di Marettimo, il 17 Settembre.
Ma potrebbe anche essere entrato in collisione con una mina galleggiante nello stretto di Sicilia, all'incirca nella stessa data.
In ogni modo, l' HMS Talisman andò perduto con tutto l'equipaggio.
