    The Roman vessel "A" of Terrasini

The ancient ship known as the wreck of Terrasini A was a Roman trade vessel carrying a cargo of Spanish garum (fish sauce) in Betican Dressel 8, Dressel 9 and Dressel 7-11 amphorae (right), sunk in Camarina bay during the I Century A.D.

L'antica nave nota come il relitto di Terrasini A era un'oneraria Romana proveniente dalla Spagna, che trasportava un carico di garum (salsa di pesce) in anfore Betiche di tipo Dressel 7-11 (a destra), Dressel 8 e Dressel 9, affondato nella Baia di Camarina nel corso del I Secolo A.C.

Some copper ingots, ropes, two bronza swords, some large tiles once covering the deck house and a lead sound have been recovered from the hull, that lies buried in the sediments of a sandy bottom at a depth of -3m, 150m from the shore off la Ciuccia beach.

Sul relitto sono stati trovati anche alcuni lingotti di piombo, spezzoni di cime, due spade in bronzo, alcune grandi tegole che facevano parte della copertura della tuga ed uno scandaglio in piombo.
Lo scafo giace sepolto dai sedimenti di un fondale sabbioso, ad una profondità di circa -3m, a 150m dalla spiaggia di La Ciuccia.
