The ancient ship known as the "Relitto dell'elmo corinzio" (the Corinthian helmet wreck), was a Greek (or Greek-Italic) trade vessel carrying a huge cargo of wine in  amphorae and of commercial pottery, sunk in Camarina bay during the VI Century B.C.

L'antica nave nota come il Relitto dell'Elmo Corinzio era una nave oneraria Greca (o Greco-Italica) che trasportava un imponente carico di vino in anfore e di vasellame commerciale, affondata nella Baia di Camarina nel corso del VI Secolo A.C.

A magnificent corynthian helmet (right), probably a defense against pirate attacks, was recovered from the wreck.

Un magnifico elmo corinzio (a destra), forse usato come difesa dagli attachi dei pirati, è stato rinvenuto sul relitto.
