The Roman vessel
of Arbatax
The Ship of Arbatax was a Roman trade vessel sunk near Capo Bellavista (Arbatax) during the second half of the first Century B.C. . She carried a cargo of tin, iron and copper
in ingots: the square tin ingots, with a subtile handle (right), are
similar to those recovered from the Port-Vendres II wreck
(France) and from the Capo Testa wreck
(Sardinia): they are
of Spanish origin, dated about 40 B.C. Trasportava
