The HMS Regulus was an old British submarine of the R class: she was built in Barrow-in-Furness by Vickers Armstrong during 1929 and launched during 1930.

L' HMS Regulus era un vecchio sommergibile Britannico della Classe R: fu costruito a Barrow-in-Furness nei cantieri Vickers Armstrong nel corso del 1929, e varato nel 1930.

Since the first months of the II WW, the HMS Regulus was based in Alexandria (Egypt).

Fin dai prmi mesi della Seconda Guerra Mondiale, l' HMS Regulus operò in Mediterraneo dalla base di Alessandria d'Egitto.

At the end of November, 1940, the British submarine left her base to patrol the Southern Adriatic and the Ionian Sea.
On December 6, the HMS Regulus was cruising off the Italian base of Taranto, when she collided with a floating mine: the submarine sank rapidly with all hands.

Alla fine del Novembre 1940, il sommeribile Britannico salpò per una missione di pattugliamento nel Basso Adriatico e nel Mar Ionio.
