    The U-32  U 31-class German submarine
    North-West of Malta 1918

The U-32 was a German submarine of the U-31 class: she was built in Kiel by Krupp Germaniawerft during 1912-13 and launched during 1914.

The submarines of the U-31 class were 64.70m long; displacement 685 tons (surfaced) 878 tons (submerged); max speed 16.4kn (surfaced) 9.7kn (submerged); four 533mm torpedo launchers, one 105mm gun. They were designed to dive down to -50m.

I sommergibili della Classe U-31 erano lunghi 64.70m; dislocamento 685 tonnellate (in emersione) e 878 tonnellate (in immersione); velocità massima 16.4 nodi (in emersione) 9.7 nodi (in immersione); quattro tubi lanciasiluri da 533mm, un cannone da 105mm. Erano progettati per immergersi fino ad una profondità di -50m.

The U-32 was based in Pula since November 1915, and had a successiful carreer, sinking 37 (!) enemy ships in eleven patrols. 

L' U-32 fu destinato alla base di Pola a partire dal novembre 1915, ed ebbe una carriera fortunata: affondò 37 navi nemiche nel corso di undici missioni.

On May 8, 1918, she was spotted and shelled by HMS Wildflower, that forced the submarine to dive: the U-32 sank after an intense depth bombing, North West of Malta. 
All the 41 men of the crew died.

L' 8 Maggio 1918 fu localizzato ed attaccato con fuoco d'artiglieria dall' HMS Wildflower, che obbligò il sommergibile ad immergersi: l' U-32 fu affondato con un lancio di bombe di profondità a Nord-Ovest di Malta.
Tutti i 41 uomini dell'equipaggio Tedesco morirono.
