    The MV Xlendi  
    South of Xatt-L-Ahmar (Gozo) 2000

The Xlendi was one of the ferryboats connecting Malta and Gozo. During 2000 she was scuttled West of Mgarr Harbour for scuba diving. 
The Xlendi sank in navigation trim, but since she leaned on a steep slope, she capsized. 
Now the wreck lies upside-down on a sandy bottom at a depth of -45m. 

Lo xlendi era uno dei traghetti che collegano Malta e Gozo.
Nel 2000 fu affondato intenzionalmente ad Ovest del porto di Mgarr per divenire un'attrazione per i subacquei.
Lo Xlendi affondò in assetto di navigazione, ma si adagiò su una ripida scarpata e si capovolse.
Adesso il relitto giace rovesciato su un fondo sabbioso, ad una profondità di -45m.

The visit to the large hold (45m-long) is interesting but not easy, bacause the capsized position of the ferry is confusing. Anyway, the view of the imposing, rounded hull with the intact rudder and the twin propellers is quite suggestive. 
A car wreck lies not far from the ferry.

L' immersione nella grande stiva (lunga 45m) è interessante ma non facile, perchè la posizione rovesciata del traghetto confonde il visitatore.
Comunque, la vista dell'imponente scafo arrotondato, con il timone intatto e le eliche gemelle, è davvero suggestiva.
Il rottame di un'automobile giace sul fondo, non lontano dal traghetto.
