    The "Relitto di S. Giorgio" sailer off Punta Portofino, 
    end of XIX Century

The "Relitto di S.Giorgio" is an unidentified sailer, probably sunk at the end of the XIX Century. The hull (right, the stern) appears to be almost complete, slightly inclined to starboard (?); the broken masts (right, the line at -104m) are still in place. 
The wreck lies on a sandy bottom at a depth of about 110m, off S. Giorgio church at Punta Portofino: it is well known by local fishermen, but is virtually unexplored by scuba divers owing to the depth of the bottom.

Si tratta di un veliero non identificato, probabilmente affondato alla fine del XIX Secolo. Lo scafo (a destra, la sezione di poppa) sembra essere pressochè completo, leggermente inclinato sul fianco destro (?); i monconi degli alberi  (a destra, la linea all'altezza dei -104m) sono ancora in posizione.
Il relitto giace su un fondo sabbioso ad una profondità di circa -110m, al traverso della Chiaea di San Giorgio a Punta Portofino: è ben conosciuto dai pescatori locali, ma virtualmente inesplorato dai subacquei, a causa dell'elevata profondità.

The sonar traces (courtesy of Dr. Edoardo Razzetti) show large amount of fishes in the proximities of the wreck, and the shades of fishing nets entangled in the hull (right, a multiple registration taken during successive passages over the wreck).
