    The Senigallia tug near Genova 1944

The Senigallia was a military tug launched during 1940 and based in Genova harbour. During 1943 she was captured by the Kriegsmarine and transformed by addying six machine guns and an anti aircraft gun to the original 76mm gun.

Il Senigallia era un rimorchiatore militare varato nel 1940, con base a Genova. Nel 1943 fu requisito dalla Marina Tedesca e trasformato aggiungendo sei mitragliere ed un cannone antiaereo al preesistente cannone da 76mm..

The Senigallia sank on September 4, 1944, during one of the heavy airplane bombing that devastated Genova and its harbour in the Autumn of 1944.

Il Senigallia fu affondato il 4 Settembre 1944 nel corso di uno dei pesanti bombardamenti aerei che devastarono Genova e il suo porto nell'autunno del 1944.

The wreck lies on a flat muddy bottom off Cornigliano breackwater (Genova), at a depth of -46m. 
The hull is in good conditions: the chimney and part of the artillery (left) are still in position. A spare propeller is on the stern deck. In the wheelhouse, the radio and the wooden rudder wheel are clearly visible.

Il relitto giace su un piatto fondale melmoso al largo della diga frangiflutti di Cornigliano (Genova), a una profondità di -46m.
Lo scafo è in buone condizioni: il fumaiolo e parte dell'artiglieria (a sinistra) sono ancora in posizione. Anche una grande elica di rispetto è ancora al suo posto sul ponte di poppa. Nella timoneria si possono vedere l'impianto radio e la ruota del timone in legno.
