    The HMS Bonaventure Dido-class 
    British light cruiser South-East of Crete 1941

 

The HMS Bonaventure was a Dido-class British light cruiser, built in Greenock by Scotts Shipbuilding & Engineers Co. during 1937, and launched during 1939.

At the beginning of the II World War, the HMS Bonaventure moved in Mediterranean.

All'inizio della II Guerra Mondiale, l' HMS Bonaventure fu destinato in Mediterraneo.

On May 31, 1941, she was escorting a convoy from Greece to Alexandria (Egypt) when she was spotted and attacked by the Italian submarine Ambra
The submarine launched two torpedoes, that sank the HMS Bonaventure South-East of Crete. 

Il 31 Maggio 1941, stava scortando un convoglio dalla Grecia ad Alessandria d'Egitto, quando fu avvistato ed attaccato dal sommergibile Italiano Ambra.
