    The HMS Triumph T-class British submarine
    off Milos 1942 

The HMS Triumph was a T-class Brirish submarine, built in Barrow by Vickers Armstrong during 1937 and launched during 1938.

On June 27, 1941, the HMS Triumph sank the Italian submarine Salpa off Alexandria (Egypt). On August 26, in Southern Tyrrhenian Sea, she torpedoed the Italian battle cruiser Bolzano, that suffered very severe damages, but survived.

During December, 1941, the HMS Triumph left her base in Alexandria heading to Athens: here she landed some agents on December 30. A few days later, probably on January 20, 1942, she collided with a floating mine off Milos Island.
No man of the crew survived.
