The HMS Perseus was an old P-class British submarine, built in Barrow by Vickers Armstrong during 1928, and launched during 1929.

At the beginning of the II World War, the HMS Perseus was based in Mediterranean: on December 7, 1941, she was cruising in Eastern Ionian Sea when, about 7 miles North of Zakynthos Island, she collided with an Italian floating mine.
The explosion was devastating, and the HMS Perseus sank rapidly.
Just one man of the crew survived.

All'inizio della II Guerra Mondiale, l' HMS Perseus fu destinato in Mediterraneo: il 7 Dicembre 1941, stava incrociando nel Mar Ionio orientale quando, circa 7 miglia a Nord dell'Isola di Zacinto, entrò in collisione con una mina galleggiante Italiana.
L'esplosione fu devastante, e l' HMS Perseus affondò rapidamente.
Un solo uomo dell'equipaggio sopravvisse.
