The Roman vessel of Cape Artemision
    I Century B.C.

.

The ancient Ship of Artemision was a Roman (or maybe Greek) trade vessel carrying a cargo of Greek sculptures, sunk near Cape Artemision between the end of the first Century B.C. and the beginning of the first Century A.D. A few wood parts of the hull lie approximately at a depth of -40m.

.

The most important finding was a bronze statue representing Poseidon (left), now exposed in the National Archaeological Museum in Athens.
