    The Mycenaean vessel of Cape Iria 
    XIII Century B.C.

 

The ancient Ship of Cape Iria was a Mycenaean trade vessel, carrying a rich variety of amphorae and commercial pottery (right), sunk during the XIII Century B.C. off Cape Iria. 

L'antica Nave di Capo Iria era una nave da carico di epoca Micenea, che trasportava una grande varietà di anfore e terracotte commerciali (a destra), affondato presso di Capo Iria nel corso del XIII Secolo A.C.

The hull lies on a rocky bottom at a depth comprised between -12m and -25m. Some stone anchors (left) were found in proximity of the wreck.

Lo scafo giace su un fondale roccioso tra i -12m ed i -25m di profondità. Alcune ancore in pietra (a sinistra) sono state rinvenute a poca distanza dal relitto.
