    The Slava Rossii Russian warship
    near the Island of Levant 1780

The Slava Rossii (Pride of Russia) was a 66-cannons russian warship, built in Arkangelsk during 1774; she was launched by the empress of Russia, Catherine the Great, as part of the League of Neutrals. 
The Slava Rossii sank during a severe storm in 1780, South of the Island of Levant.

La Slava Rossii (Orgoglio della Russia) era una nave da guerra Russa da 66 cannoni, costruita ad Arkangelsk nel 1774; fu varata dall' Imperatrice di Russia, Caterina la Grande, come parte della Lega dei Neutrali. 
La Slava Rossii affondò a causa di una terribile tempesta nel 1780, a Sud dell' Ile de Levant.

The exploration of the wreck, discovered in 1957, began in 1980. 
It resulted in the recovery of a large amount of interesting findings: weapons (ranging from curtlasses and muskets to a variety of artillery pieces) and daily life objects. Among which, dishes, cutlery, personal objects and a number of precious portable icons and altars (right and above).

L' esplorazione sistematica del relitto, scoperto nel 1957, iniziò nel 1980.
E' stato possibile recuperare una gran quantità di oggetti: armi (a partire da sciabole e moschetti per finire con una varietà di pezzi d' artiglieria) ma anche oggetti della vita quotidiana, tra i quali piatti, posate, oggetti personali e molte preziose icone ed altarini portatili (sopra e a destra).
