The Roman vessel of Pointe de Lequin
    (Porquerolles Island) I Century A.D.

The ancient Ship of Pointe de Lequin was a  Roman trade vessel carrying a cargo of Spanish wine in Tarraconese Dressel 2-4 Amphorae (left).

The surroundings of Porquerolles Island are scattered of ancient (and modern) shipwrecks: Porquerolles was probably a shelter for ships sailing from Spain to Marseille, Rome and Greece.
