    The Roman vessel of Calanque de l'Âne

The ancient Ship of Calanque de l' Âne was a Roman trade vessel about 25m long, that was carrying a cargo of tegulae (flat tiles) and imbrices (bent tiles), sunk East of Frioul Island near Marseille during the second half of the first Century A.D.

L' antica Nave di Calanque de l' Âne era una nave commerciale Romana lunga circa 25m, che trasportava un carico di tegulae (tegole piane) e di imbrices (tegole curve), affondata ad Est dell'Isola di Frioul presso Marsiglia nella seconda metà del Primo Secolo D.C.

The hull is well preserved (above) and lies on a sandy bottom at a depth of about -20m.

Lo scafo (sopra) è ben conservato e giace su un fondale sabbioso ad una profondità di circa -20m.
