    The HMS Kipling British K-class destroyer
    off Marsa Matruh 1942

The HMS Kipling was a K-class British destroyer, built in Scotstown by Yarrow Shipbuilders Ltd. during 1937-38, and launched during 1939.

On October 11, 1940, together with the destroyers HMS Kashmir, HMS Jaguar and HMS Broke, the HMS Kipling escorted the British Battleship HMS Revenge during the bombing of the French harbour of Cherbourg. 
Then, the HMS Kipling moved in Mediterranean.

L' 11 Ottobre 1940,  insieme ai cacciatorpediniere HMS Kashmir, HMS Jaguar e HMS Broke, l' HMS Kipling scortò la corazzata HMS Revenge che si apprestava a cannoneggiare il porto Francese di Cherbourg.

On May 11, 1942, the HMS Kipling was cruising in Eastern Mediterranean off the Northern coasts of Egypt. 
She was spotted by a few German Junkers Ju 88 bombers: the bombs severely damaged the HMS Kipling, that sank North of Marsa Matruh.
