The HMS Coventry  was a C-class British light cruiser, built in Wallesend-on-Tyne by Swan Hunter and Wigham Richardson Ltd. during 1916, and launched during 1917. 
She was converted in anti-aircraft cruiser just before the II World War.

L' HMS Coventry era un incrociatore leggero Britannico della Classe C, costruito a Wallesend-on-Tyne nei cantieri Swan Hunter and Wigham Richardson Ltd. nel corso del 1916, e varato nel 1917.
Appena prima della II Guerra Mondiale, venne sottoposto a lavori che lo trasformarono in incrociatore anti-aereo.

On September 14, 1942, she was spotted and attacked by some German Junkers Ju 87 Stuka dive bombers. 

Il 14 Settembre 1942, fu avvistato ed attaccato da alcuni bombardieri in picchiata Tedeschi Junkers Ju 87 Stuka.

Despite to her powerful anti aircraft equipment, the HMS Coventry was seriously damaged by the small and agile dive bombers, and sank North-West of Alexandria.

Nonostante il suo potente armamento anti-aereo, l' HMS Coventry fu seriamente danneggiato dai piccoli ed agili bombardieri in picchiata, ed affondō a Nord-Ovest di Alessandria d'Egitto.
