    The HMS Barham British battleship
    North of Sollum Gulf 1941

The HMS Barham was a British battleship of the Queen Elizabeth class, sistership of the HMS Valiant and of the HMS Queen Elizabeth, damaged by Italian divers in Alexandria harbour (Egypt). 
She was built in Clydebank by John Brown Shipbuilding & Engineering Company Ltd. during 1913, and launched during 1914.

L' HMS Barham era una corazzata Britannica della Classe Queen Elizabeth, gemella della HMS Valiant e della HMS Queen Elizabeth, danneggiate  da incursori Italiani nel Porto di Alessandria d'Egitto.
Fu costruita a Clydebank nei cantieri John Brown Shoipbuilding & Engineering Company Ltd. nel corso del 1913, e varata nel 1914.

During the I World War she took part in the Battle of Jutland, serving in the Grand Fleet.

Nel corso della I Guerra Mondiale servì nella Grand Fleet, e partecipò alla Battaglia dello Jutland.

During December, 1939, the HMS Barham was torpedoed and severely damaged by the German submarine U-30.
During Seprember, 1940, she had a fight with the French battleship Richelieu off Dakar (Senegal).
During 1941, the HMS Barham moved in Mediterranean. Here she took part in the Battle of Cape Matapan, where she suffered bomb damages.

Nel Dicembre 1939, la HMS Barham fu silurata e gravemente dannegiata dal sommergibile Tedesco U-30.
Nel Settembre 1940, ebbe uno scambio di colpi d'artiglieria con la corazzata Francese Richelieu al largo di Dakar (Senegal).
Nel 1941, la HMS Barham fu destinata in Mediterraneo. Qui prese parte alla Battaglia di Capo Matapan, nella quale fu danneggiata da bombe.

On November 25, 1941, she was attacking an Italian convoy North of Sollum, when she was torpedoed by the German submarine U-331.
The HMS Barham was hit by three torpedoes, and when she rolled to port, her powder magazines exploded. 
The battleship was devastated by the explosion, and rapidly sank about 60 miles North of Sollum.

Il 25 Novembre 1941, stava attaccando un convoglio Italiano a Nord di Sollum, quando fu silurata dal sommergibile Tedesco U-331.
La HMS Barham fu colpita da tre siluri, e quando sbandò a sinistra, i suoi depositi di munizioni esplosero.
La corazzata fu devastata dall'esplosione, ed affondò rapidamente circa 60 kmiglia a Nord di Sollum.

More than two-third of the crew was lost with the HMS Barham.
