The UC-34 was a coastal minelayer German submarine of the UC-II class: she was built in Hamburg by Blohm und Voss during 1915 and launched during 1916.
The UC-34 served as the Austro-Hungarian U-74 until the end of the war.

L' UC-34 era un sommergibile posamine costiero Tedesco della Classe UC II: fu costruito ad Amburgo nei cantieri Blohm und Voss nel corso del 1915, e varato nel 1916.
L' UC-34 servì nella Marina Austro-Ungarica come U-74 fino alla fine della I Guerra Mondiale.

The submarines of the UC II class were 49.35m long; displacement 417 tons (surfaced) 493 tons (submerged); max speed 11.6kn (surfaced) 7kn (submerged); three 533mm torpedo launchers, 18 mines, one 88mm gun. They were designed to dive down to -50m.

The UC-34 was based in Pula since January 1917, and operated nine patrols, sinking 14 enemy ships.
