The UC-25 was a coastal minelayer German submarine of the UC-II class: she was built in Hamburg by Vulcan during 1915 and launched during 1916.
The UC-25 served as the Austro-Hungarian U-boat U-89 until the end of the war.

L' UC-25 era un sommergibile posamine costiero Tedesco della Classe UC II: fu costruito ad Amburgo nei cantieri Vulcan nel corso del 1915, e varato nel 1916.
L' UC-25 servì nella Marina Austro-Ungarica come U-89 fino alla fine della I Guerra Mondiale.

The submarines of the UC II class were 49.35m long; displacement 417 tons (surfaced) 493 tons (submerged); max speed 11.6kn (surfaced) 7kn (submerged); three 533mm torpedo launchers, 18 mines, one 88mm gun. They were designed to dive down to -50m.

I sommergibili della Classe UC II erano lunghi 49.35m; dislocamento 417 tonnellate (in emersione) 493 tonnellate (in immersione); velocità massima 11.6 nodi (in emersione) 7 nodi (in immersione); tre tubi lanciasiluri da 533mm, 18 mine, un cannone da 88mm. Erano progettati per immergersi fino a -50m.

The UC-25 was based in Pula since April 1917, and operated 13 patrols, sinking 17 enemy ships. 

L' UC-25 fu destinato alla base di Pola a partire dall' Aprile 1917, ed affondò 17 navi nemiche in 13 missioni.

At the end of the I WW, on October 28, 1918, she was scuttled at Pula during the evacuation.

Alla fine della I Guerra Mondiale, il 28 Ottobre 1918, fu affondato dall'equipaggio a Pola, durante l'evacuazione della base.

The Commander of UC-25, from February to August 1918, was Oberleutenant zur See Karl Doenitz (right) that became the head of German U-boats from 1935 to 1945.
