    The UC-53 UC-II-class German submarine

The UC-53 was a coastal minelayer German submarine of the UC-II class: she was built in Kiel by Krupp Germaniawerft during 1916 and launched during 1917.
The UC-53 served as the Austro-Hungarian  U-95 until the end of the war.

L' UC-53 era un sommergibile posamine costiero Tedesco della Classe UC II: fu costruito a Kiel nei cantieri Krupp Germaniawerft nel corso del 1916, e varato nel 1917.
L' UC-53 servì nella Marina Austro-Ungarica come U-95 fino alla fine della I Guerra Mondiale.

The submarines of the UC II class were 49.35m long; displacement 417 tons (surfaced) 493 tons (submerged); max speed 11.6kn (surfaced) 7kn (submerged); three 533mm torpedo launchers, 18 mines, one 88mm gun. They were designed to dive down to -50m.

I sommergibili della Classe UC II erano lunghi 49.35m; dislocamento 417 tonnellate (in emersione) 493 tonnellate (in immersione); velocità massima 11.6 nodi (in emersione) 7 nodi (in immersione); tre tubi lanciasiluri da 533mm, 18 mine, un cannone da 88mm. Erano progettati per immergersi fino a -50m.

The UC-53 was based in Pula since June 1917, and had a very successiful career, sinking 53 enemy ships in 8 patrols. 

L' UC-53 fu destinato alla base di Pola, ed ebbe una carriera molto fortunata, affondando 53 navi nemiche in 8 missioni.

At the end of the I WW, on November 1, 1918, she was scuttled at Pula during the evacuation.

Alla fine della I Guerra Mondiale, il ! Novembre 1918, fu affondato dall'equipaggio a Pola, nel corso dell'evacuazione della base.
