    The U-65 U-63-class German submarine at Pula 1918

The U-65 was a German submarine of the U-63 class: she was built in Kiel by Krupp Germaniawerft during 1915 and launched during 1916.

The submarines of the U-63 class were 68.36m long; displacement 810 tons (surfaced) 927 tons (submerged); max speed 16.5kn (surfaced) 9kn (submerged); four 533mm torpedo launchers, one 88mm gun. They were designed to dive down to -50m.

The U-65 was based in Pula since November 1915, and had a successiful carreer, sinking 52 enemy ships in eleven patrols. 

L' U-65 fu destinato alla base di Pola a partire dal Novembre 1915, ed ebbe una carriera fortunata, affondando 52 navi nemiche in undici missioni.

At the end of the I WW, on October 28, 1918, she was scuttled at Pula during the evacuation.

Alla fine della I Guerra Mondiale, il 28 Ottobre 1918, fu affondato dall'equipaggio a Pola durante l'evacuazione della base.
