    The Roman vessel of Fano
    I-II Century A.D.

.

.

The ancient Ship of Fano was a Roman trade vessel, carrying a cargo of Apulian wine in Dressel 6 amphorae (left), sunk near the coast between Fano and Pesaro during the first Century B.C.

.

Some amphorae have been recovered from the hull, but the wreck lies on a sandy bottom at a depth of more than -100m, and is still unexplored.
