The Roman vessel of Fano
. The ancient Ship of Fano was a Roman trade vessel, carrying a cargo of Apulian wine in Dressel 6 amphorae (left), sunk near the coast between Fano and Pesaro during the first Century B.C. . L'antica Nave di Fano era un'oneraria Romana che trasportava un carico di vino Pugliese in anfore di tipo Dressel 6 (a sinistra), affondato presso la costa tra Fano e Pesaro durante il Primo Secolo A.C. Some amphorae have been recovered from the hull, but the wreck lies on a sandy bottom at a depth of more than -100m, and is still unexplored.
