Up to 75cm. Black to greysh-black carapace, graysh plastron. The dorsal shield of the carapace is provided with 5 couples of costal shields. 

Lunghezza fino a 75cm. Carapace di colore nero grigiastro, piastrone grigiastro. Lo scudo dorsale del carapace è provvisto di cinque coppie di scudi costali.

   
The plastron is provided with four couples of infra-marginal plaques, with pores.
The flattened anterior limbs have a single nail.

Il piastrone è provvisto di quattro coppie di placche infra-marginali dotate di pori.
Le zampe anteriori appiattite mostrano una sola unghia.

   
The head shows four frontal plaques.

La testa mostra quattro placche frontali.

A warm water Species, typical of shallow waters, occasional in Mediterranean.

Specie di acque tiepide, tipca di ambienti a bassa profondità, occasionale in Mediterraneo.
