Potamididae

    
Pirenella conica (Blainville, 1836)

The Family Potamididae includes some Species that live mostly in brackish waters, in lagoons, salt marshes, estuaries (the Family name comes from the Greek word potamos, meaning river). 
The shells are small, elongated, with rounded mouth. 
Some five Species are represented in Mediterranean.  

La Famiglia Potamididae comprende alcune Specie che vivono per lo pił in acque salmastre, lagune, paludi salate ed estuari (il nome della Famiglia deriva dalla parola Greca potamos, che significa fiume). 
Le conchiglie sono minuscole, allungate, con stoma arrotondato. 
Circa cinque Specie sono rappresentate in Mediterraneo.
