The
Family
Haliotidae includes some 100 Species, and has a worldwide
distribution: just three of them are present in Mediterranean. The shape
of the shell is characteristically ear-like, with a series of small holes
near the anterior margin. The colour is very variable, depending on the
diet of the individual.

cento Specie, ed ha distribuzione mondiale; solo tre sono rappresentate in
Mediterraneo.
