Argonautidae

        
Argonauta argo  Linnaeus, 1758  

The Family Argonautidae includes few pelagic Species diffused worldwide in temperate and tropical waters.
The male is much smaller than the female. The "shell" is actually a membranaceous, fragile nest secreted by the female, where she keeps the eggs.

La Famiglia Argonautidae comprende poche Specie pelagiche diffuse in tutto il mondo in acque temperate e tropicali.
Il maschio è molto più piccolo della femmina. La "conchiglia" è in effetti un nido fragile, membranaceo, secreto dalla femmina che la usa per proteggere le uova.
