The extraordinary Hellenic Maritime Museum hosts more then 13000 objects, representative of all periods of Greek history. 
Among them, models of historical vessels, flags, reconstruction of battles, uniforms, documents, weapons and figure-heads, and many beautiful models of classical age vessels. 

Lo straordinario Museo Marittimo Greco del Pireo è ricco di più di 13000 oggetti, rappresentativi di tutti i periodi della Storia Greca.
Tra essi, modelli di navi storiche, bandiere, ricostruzioni di battaglie, uniformi, documenti, armi e polene, e molti magnifici modelli di navi dell'età classica.

An important part of the collections is dedicated to the struggle of Greece for the independence from Turkey: the model of the famous brick Aris, that escaped from the Turkish fleet at Navarino in 1825; the model of the steam warship Karteria, the first ship with mechanic propulsion that took part in a battle. 
The Archive of the Hellenic Maritime Museum is rich of rare books, maps and documents. 
Naval guns, anchors and the conning tower of the submarine Papanikolis are exposed in the parade ground.  

Un'importante parte delle collezioni è dedicata alla lotta della Grecia per l'indipendenza dalla Turchia: Il modello del famoso brigantino Aris, che forzò il blocco della marina Turca a Navarino nel 1825; il modello della nave da guerra a vapore Karteria, la prima nave a propulsione meccanica che sia scesa in battaglia.
L'Archivio del Museo è ricco di libri rari, mappe e documenti. 
Cannoni navali, ancore e la torretta del sommergibile Papanikolis sono esposti nel cortile di parata.
