Asperococcus compressus
Griffiths ex Hooker   (19cm)      

Fragile, bag-like thallus, with hairy surface and short stype; brownish yellow to olive green, slightly translucent; from 5 to 50cm long, 2 to 10cm wide. 
Sporophyte (complex reproductive cycle with alternance of microscopic stages). 
Found from spring to summer on rocks or epiphyte on other seaweeds or on Posidonia oceanica, from surface (in sheltered stations) down to -45m. 
Widely diffused in temperate waters.

Tallo fragile, in forma di borsa, con superficie villosa e stipo breve di colore da giallo brunastro a verde oliva, alquanto traslucido; lunghezza da 5 a 50cm, larghezza da 2 a 10cm.
Sporofito (vedi immagine). Ciclo riproduttivo complesso, con alternanza di generazioni microscopiche.
Si trova dalla primavera all'estate su rocce, o epifita su altre Alghe o su Posidonia oceanica, dalla superficie (in stazioni riparate) fino a -45m.
Largamente diffusa in acque temperate.
